(A) A person operating a motor vehicle on city streets and/or city alleys shall abide by the laws when finding a place to park their vehicle. If a person parks in a no parking zone or areas, will face a fine or a vehicle may be towed to an impound yard. If any person has problems with parking, he or she shall discuss such with the Chief of Police.
(B) No one operating a motor vehicle may not stop, stand, or park except when necessary as directed by police officers or traffic control officers in any of the following places:
(1) On a sidewalk, grass plot between curbs, or sidewalks;
(2) In front of a public or five feet from a private driveway, or an alley entrance;
(3) Within an intersection or on a bridge;
(4) On a crosswalk, within 20 feet of a crosswalk;
(5) Along or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when stopping, standing, or parking would obstruct traffic;
(6) Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, when hydrant is part of an intersection up to 30 feet;
(7) Within 50 feet of the nearest railroad crossing or a flashing signal;
(8) Within 15 feet of the driveway entrance, entrance to a fire station and on the side of a street opposite the entrance to the fire station and on the side of a street opposite the entrance to the fire station, within 75 feet of the entrance signs must be posted;
(9) Twenty-five to 30 feet of an intersection area; and
(10) Exception to the above rules shall be approved by the Board of Public Works and Safety, such as created by a special event or project.
