A. Code Adopted: A certain document, one copy of which is and has been on file in the office of the city clerk for more than thirty (30) days prior to the effective date hereof, being marked and designated as the international building code, 2006 edition, as published by the International Code Council, is hereby adopted as the building code of the city for regulating and governing the conditions and maintenance of all property, buildings and structures by providing the standards for supplied utilities and facilities and other physical things and conditions essential to ensure that structures are safe, sanitary and fit for occupation and use, and the condemnation of buildings and structures unfit for human occupancy, and use and the demolition of such structures as herein provided; and providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, conditions and terms of said building code on file in the office of the city clerk are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this section, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in subsection B of this section.
B. Amendments To Code: The following sections of the code adopted in this section are hereby revised:
Section 101.1. Insert "city of Jerseyville".
Section 1612.3. Insert "city of Jerseyville".
Section 1612.3. Insert "1985".
Section 3410.2. Insert "February 10, 2008".

C. Definitions:
1. Wherever the word "municipality" is used in the building code adopted in this section, it shall mean the city.
2. Wherever the term "corporation counsel" is used in the building code adopted in this section, it shall be held to mean the attorney for the city. (Ord. 1317, 6-13-2000)
D. Penalties: Penalties for violations of any of the provisions of the code adopted in this section shall be as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code. (Ord. 1513, 1-29-2008)
