§ 70.03  VEHICLE REGISTRATION AND INSPECTION.
   (A)   Pursuant to I.C. 9-29-4-2, the County Sheriff’s Department shall be and hereby is authorized to levy and collect a fee for inspecting motor vehicles which must be inspected prior to registration in the state.
   (B)   The charge for such inspection will be in the sum as set by the Board and/or Council from time to time for each vehicle so inspected and no inspection shall be conducted until such fee is paid by means of cash, certified check or money order. Upon the receipt of said sum by the Sheriff’s Department, the Sheriff or his or her representative shall immediately issue a receipt on Sheriff’s Receipt No. 133.
   (C)   All sums collected pursuant to division (B) above shall be deposited by the County Auditor in the County Sheriff’s Accident Fund and any of such deposits shall be used only for the education and training of officers and employees of the County Sheriff’s Department. Further, all expenditures for said fund must be processed, appropriated and all owed in the same manner as other claims of the county.
   (D)   All sums collected pursuant to this section shall be accounted for as follows:
      (1)   The County Sheriff’s Department shall remit to the County Auditor all receipts at least once each month;
      (2)   The County Auditor shall issue a quietus for remittance specifying the number of receipts so received from the Sheriff; and
      (3)   The County Auditor shall then receipt the funds to the fund stated hereinabove.
