(A) It shall be unlawful to install or use any electrical device, apparatus, or equipment designed for attachment to, or installation on any electrical circuit or system for heat, light, power, or fire alarm system that is not of good design and construction and safe and adequate for its intended use. The Electrical Inspector shall have power to disapprove the use or installation of devices not fulfilling these requirements.
(B) Devices, apparatus and equipment listed by such generally recognized authorities as United States Bureau of Standards, or by qualified electrical testing laboratories such as: Electrical Testing Laboratories (ETL), Underwriters Laboratories (UL) or Factory Mutual (FM) may be given the approval by the Electrical Inspector unless explicitly disapproved by said authority for reasons of faulty design or poor construction involving danger to persons and/or property.
