For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
CARNIVAL. A transient outdoor show or exhibition consisting of or including amusement machines or devices, concessions, or amusement stands, exhibits of natural or artificial curiosities, or any combination thereof, and which or in connection with are conducted or permitted games of chance or skill, or partly chance and partly skill, or when goods are given away or awarded to persons paying a consideration for a chance or opportunity to win or secure the same as a prize or award, or any show, display, meeting, public gathering, or a similar type activity conducted within the corporate limits of the city.
