For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
MULTIPLE DWELLING UNITS. Apartment buildings of two or more units, hotels, boarding houses, convalescent homes, motels, and like establishments. (‘68 Code, § 6-2204)
SMOKE DETECTOR. A device capable of sensing visible or invisible products of combustion. Such smoke detectors shall be approved or listed by a recognized independent testing laboratory, and when actuated shall provide an alarm suitable to warn the occupants within the individual dwelling unit.
