§ 91.23  RABIES CONTROL; DOG BITES; NOTIFICATION.
   (A)   Any person who shall have in his or her possession a dog which has contracted rabies shall, upon demand of a police officer, Mayor or their duly authorized representative, produce and surrender said dog to the aforesaid official for observation for a period of ten days.
   (B)   It shall be the duty of every person owning or harboring a dog which has been attacked or bitten by another dog or other animal showing the symptoms of rabies to immediately notify the Police Department or the Mayor or his duly authorized representative that he has such a dog in his possession.  Whenever said dog is brought to the pound for having bitten a person and when it shall appear after observation for ten days by the Police Department, the Mayor or his duly authorized representative, that such a dog is fierce, vicious or dangerous, the Police Department, the Mayor or his duly authorized representative shall cause such dog to be destroyed as a vicious dog; further; and that whenever any dog suffering from rabies is held by the Police Department, Mayor or his duly authorized representative for a period of ten days and it has not recovered from such rabies, it shall be destroyed.
