The act adopted in this subchapter is an act to promote safety upon the public highways by regulating the operation of motor trucks, tractors, and trailers; to provide the number of persons necessary to the operation of such motor trucks and tractors; to limit the hours of service of persons engaged in operating such vehicles; to require the keeping of records of such operations; to provide for the assessment of fees; to provide penalties for the violations of this act; and to repeal certain acts and parts of acts.
