§ 52.11  INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE; DAMAGE TO PROPERTY.
   (A)   The Water Department will exercise reasonable diligence and care to deliver a continuous and sufficient supply of water to the customer as furnished by the Detroit Water Board or its successor under the supply, but the Department assumes no liability for any loss or damage occasioned thereby.

   (B)   Whenever the Department finds it necessary to interrupt water service to any district or section that it serves, it shall when possible or practicable give advance notice to the consumers affected.

   (C)   The Department will in no case be liable for damage caused by, or in any way arising out of, running or escape of water from faucets, burst pipes or faulty fixtures on the premises.  Every service line is equipped with a control valve which may be used by the customer when necessary to shut off the water supply to the entire premises.  Upon request, day or night, the Department will shut off such control valve for emergency purposes and will turn on after repairs have been made.
