Whenever, upon inspection of any rooming house, the Department of Building or other enforcement officials, finds that conditions or practices exist which are in violation of any provision of this chapter or of any rule or regulation adopted pursuant thereto, the Department of Building or other enforcement officials, shall give notice in writing to the operator of such rooming house that unless such conditions or practices are corrected within a maximum period of time, to be determined by the Department of Building or other enforcement officials, the operator's rooming house license shall be suspended. At the end of such period, the Department of Building or other enforcement officials shall reinspect such rooming house, and if it finds that such conditions or practices have not been corrected, it shall give notice in writing to the operator that the later's license has been suspended. Upon receipt of suspension, the Department of Building shall suspend the Certificate of Compliance. Such operator shall immediately cease operation of such rooming house, and no person shall occupy for sleeping or living purposes any rooming unit therein.
