If a building is fire damaged, the owner has 90 days from the date of the fire to apply for a permit to start construction or demolition. The director or his/her designee may grant additional 90-day extensions, provided the owner can demonstrate substantial progress towards completing repairs. Failure to do so will result in the property being deemed vacant and subject to the requirements of this chapter.
