§ 32.11 PUBLIC ARTS COMMISSION; ESTABLISHMENT AND DUTIES.
   The Public Arts Commission shall:
   (A)   Establishment. There is hereby established the Public Arts Commission.
   (B)   Jurisdiction. The Public Arts Commission shall perform the following functions:
      (1)   Solicit artist proposals, select and recommend purchases of public art to the City Council.
      (2)   Review artwork proposed by developers under the Art in Public Places Program, as specified in the Unified Development Code, for aesthetic quality, maintenance requirements and appropriateness of the donation to the overall goals of the Art in Public Places Program and make a recommendation to the City Council.
      (3)   Recommend sites for public art projects.
      (4)   Provide technical and aesthetic recommendations for all public and private public art projects.
      (5)   Review artist applications for participation in the Art in Public Places Artist Registry.
      (6)   Create and recommend policy in conformity with the Indio General Plan for visual arts.
      (7)   Perform such other functions as directed by the City Council.
      (8)   Establish its own rules and procedures not inconsistent with the intent of this chapter or any other ordinances or laws of the city or state.
