Except as hereinafter provided, all of the provisions and Appendices B, BB, C, CC, and H of the 2022 California Fire Code, based on the 2021 International Fire Code, published by the International Code Council, inclusive of all of the inclusions and exclusions set forth in each chapter's matrix, are hereby adopted by reference and incorporated herein as though fully set forth herein and shall constitute the Fire Code of the City of Indio. ("Fire Code"). In addition, the following provisions that were excluded in the 2022 California Fire Code are hereby adopted: Chapter 1, Division II of the California Fire Code is hereby adopted, except that Section 103.2 and 111.3 are not adopted; Chapters 3, 25, and Sections 403.11, 503, and 510.2, and Sections 1103.2 and 5707 are adopted. Such provisions shall be part of the Fire Code. Said Fire Code is for the purpose of prescribing regulations governing the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion, hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials, devices, and from conditions hazardous to life and property in the occupancy of buildings and premises as
herein provided and for providing for the issuance of permits. A copy of the Fire Code shall be maintained in the office of the City Clerk and shall be made available for public inspection.
