§ 93.22 ANIMALS EXCEPTED.
   (A)   The following listed animals are excepted from the restrictions of § 93.21; provided, that they are completely confined in a suitable, secure, and humane manner; and provided, that any confinement device or structure is screened from the view of the public and neighbors; and provided, that their presence does not result in any auditory, visual, or odorous nuisance to the public or neighbors; and provided, that the confinement device complies with all applicable building codes; and provided, that they are not kept, bred, or maintained for any commercial or breeding purposes; and provided, that their numbers do not exceed the limits set below.
      (1)   Domesticated dogs and cats. No more than four dogs and/or four cats per lot are allowed.
      (2)   Chickens. Only hens are allowed; roosters are not allowed. No more than six hens per lot are allowed.
      (3)   Domesticated rabbits. No more than four rabbits per lot are allowed.
      (4)   Pets. Animals that are kept as pets and are securely confined at all times.
   (B)   (1)   Some areas of the city have deed restrictions which prohibit the keeping of all animals except for domesticated dogs and cats.
      (2)   City ordinances cannot and do not override deed restrictions. Deeds of restriction are on file with the County Clerk.
      (3)   It is the obligation of every property owner to be aware of and comply with all deed restrictions covering their property.
