§ 70.04 ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITY.
   Authority to direct and enforce all traffic regulations of the city in accordance with the provisions of this traffic code and to make arrests for traffic violations is given to the Police Department.

§ 70.05 TEMPORARY REGULATIONS.
   When required for the convenience and safety of the public and to alleviate unusual traffic problems, the City Council or any authorized city official shall, at his or her discretion, have authority to impose such traffic regulations as he or she may deem necessary for temporary periods not to exceed two weeks. If these temporary regulations are necessary for a period longer than two weeks, the City Clerk shall be notified in writing of the extended order.

WEIGHT LIMITS
§ 70.20 WEIGHT LIMIT ESTABLISHED.
   No person shall operate on any roadway within the city any motor vehicle which exceeds 21,000 pounds gross weight, including the load; provided, however, special permits may be granted by the City Council or its duly appointed representative on such conditions, regulations, and subject to such fees as may be set by the City Council.

§ 70.21 EXEMPTIONS.
   Section 70.20 shall not extend to any motor vehicles which enter the city for purposes of delivering goods, merchandise, or other property or service to completed residences within the limits of the city nor to moving van type trucks moving residents into or out of the city.

§ 70.22 SIGNS REQUIRED.
   Signs indicating such weight limitations described in this subchapter may be erected at appropriate locations by the city.

§ 70.99 PENALTY.
   (A)   Any person violating any provision of this chapter for which no specific penalty is prescribed shall be subject to § 10.99 of this code of ordinances.
   (B)   Any person who violates any provision of §§ 70.20 through 70.22 shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not less than $50 nor more than $100.
