§ 34.01 POLICE ACTIVITIES OUTSIDE TERRITORIAL LIMITS.
   Any action taken by any member of the Police Department of the village outside the territorial limits of the village if taken in pursuance of any police matter involving the village, or if taken in the line of cooperation upon official business with any other governmental unit, which action is ordered or approved by the chief of police of the village, or if done upon an emergency or other basis wherein the order or approval of the chief of police of the village may not be had prior to such action and which action is subsequently ratified by the chief of police of the village, shall be considered to be an action performed in the course of the employment of such member of the police department.
