§ 90.02 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings ascribed to them respectively.
   ALARM AGENT.
      (1)   Any person who is employed by an alarm business, either directly or indirectly, whose duties include any of the following: selling, maintaining, leasing, servicing, repairing, altering, replacing, moving, or installing on or in any building, structure, or facility, any alarm system.
      (2)   EXEMPTION. The provisions of this section do not include a person who engages in the manufacture or sale of an alarm system from a fixed location and who neither visits the location where the alarm system is to be installed, nor designs the scheme for physical location and installation of the alarm system in a specific location.
   ALARM BUSINESS. The business by any individual, partnership, corporation, or other entity of: selling, leasing, maintaining, servicing, repairing, altering, replacing, moving, or installing any alarm system in residences and other structures.
   ALARM SYSTEM. Any mechanical, radio, or electrical device which is designed or used for the detection of an unauthorized entry into and/or for the detection of fire or other emergency situation within a building, or for alerting others of the commission of an unlawful act within a building or both; and which emits a sound or transmits a signal when activated.
   FALSE ALARM. An alarm signal necessitating response by the Police Department where an emergency situation does not exist.
   LICENSEE. Any person, firm, partnership, association, or corporation who, or which, shall be granted a license as provided herein, and his or its employees, agents, and representatives.
   PROPRIETOR ALARM. An alarm which is not serviced by an alarm business.
   PERMITTEE. One who holds a valid permit as herein provided.
