It shall be unlawful for any person to allow their cat to run at large within the city. If any cat shall be found running at large within the corporate limits of the city in violation of this subchapter it shall be taken into custody by any city police officer, or other law enforcement officer or any other person authorized by the City Commission by resolution to carry out the terms of this subchapter. The cat shall be impounded for four days. Cats may be claimed within the four-day period after a collection fee has been paid for each cat. If not claimed within this period, the cat shall be sold or otherwise disposed of.
