It shall be the duty of the Law Director to attend all meetings of Council; to prepare all ordinances, resolutions, contracts, bonds and bond transcripts in and for the Village; to furnish legal advice to the Village and the officials thereof on matters relating to the Village and to the powers and duties of the officials; to prosecute any criminal cases instituted before the Mayor when requested to do so by him or her; and to represent the Village in all suits and proceedings instituted by or against the Village in any court of record.
