(a) Effective as of August 21, 1988, the full amount of statutorily required contributions to the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio shall have the gross pay reduced of each City official and employee and shall be "picked-up" (assumed and paid to) the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio by each person or employee.
(b) No person subject to this "pick-up" shall have the option of choosing to receive the statutorily required contribution to the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio instead of having it "picked-up" by the City or being excluded from "pick-up".
(c) The City, and the Auditor, shall, in reporting and making remittance to the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio, report that the public employees contribution for each person subject to their "pick-up" has been made by the City in lieu of contributions to the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio by each person and that contributions are designated as public employee contributions.
(d) Such contributions to the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio shall be paid by the employer in lieu of contributions by the employee.
