No license shall be issued until the contractor has filed with the City Engineering Department a surety bond in the sum of an amount as set by the City Council from time to time for faithful performance of all duties required by the city and for repayment to the city for damages growing out of the willful acts or negligence of the contractor. Exemption: contractors who have been licensed with the city for three or more consecutive years, and have not had a bond claim against them in that time, shall have the option of posting a $100 contractor’s cash performance bond on a form provided by the city where approved by the Cemetery Superintendent or Building Official.
