§ 91.08 GRAVE OPEN/CLOSE, INSTALLATIONS OF BURIAL VAULTS, MARKERS AND MONUMENTS ALL UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF CEMETERY SUPERINTENDENT.
   (A)   The opening/closing of all graves shall be done only by city-approved contractors and shall be under the supervision of the Superintendent with the following requirements:
      (1)   Cemetery Superintendent must be provided legal description of the lot to be opened by the funeral home or responsible party.
      (2)   No grave opening shall take place until all fees for cemetery lot and any applicable fees to the city have been paid.
      (3)   Cemetery Superintendent will mark all graves/internment sites.
      (4)   Contractor/digger will excavate according to superintendent ground markings.
      (5)   Contractor/digger will open ground within a timely manner.
      (5)   Contractor/digger will close ground after the funeral and after attendees have left the burial site.
      (6)   Dirt must be compacted and grave site must be completely cleaned up.
      (7)   A final inspection will be completed by Superintendent, who may require contractor/digger fix any issues/damage to the grave or surrounding terrain.
      (8)   On occasion contractor/digger may be required to move headstones to gain access to grave sites.
   (B)   The installation or erection of any burial vault, grave marker or grave monument in Evergreen Cemetery shall be under the supervision of the Superintendent as follows.
      (1)   All monuments or markers must have foundations except for ground level markers.
      (2)   All monuments or markers must be set and placed with the use of survey stakes to ensure that the monuments or markers are in line with the others.
      (3)   Monuments setters and salespeople must contact the Superintendent or a cemetery employee in order to find the survey stakes so flags can be place to align the monument or marker properly.
      (4)   The vehicles of monument setters are not allowed on the grass while setting the monument or marker without prior permission from the Superintendent.
      (5)   Any damage done to the cemetery by contractors or monument companies will be repaired by contractors or if repaired by the city, will be charged to the contractor or monument company.
      (6)   Monuments must be set and placed level unless the terrain dictates otherwise.
      (7)   Any monument or marker that is set and placed improperly is the responsibility of the monument company to correct.
      (8)   The city is not responsible for errors on monuments, i.e., placed and faced wrong, paneled the opposite direction and the like.
