17.92.020 Board of appeals-Membership-Vacancy filling.
   A.   A board of appeals is authorized to continue as previously established by ordinances. The word "board" when used in this chapter shall be construed to mean the board of appeals. The existing board of seven members appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the council of the city shall continue their term of five years and their successors shall serve terms of five years. The chairman of the board shall hold his office as chairman until his successor is appointed by the mayor with consent of the city council.
   B.   The mayor shall have the power to remove any member of the board for cause and after a public hearing and with the consent of the city council. Vacancies upon the board shall be filled for the unexpired term of the member whose place has become vacant, in the manner provided herein for the appointment of such member.
