The water department is authorized to discontinue water service after a reasonable notice to any person owning any property where a cross-connection in violation of this code exists. The water department may take such other precautionary measures as necessary to eliminate any danger of the contamination of the Hoopeston water supply system. Water service to such property shall not be restored until such cross-connection has been eliminated.
