All vehicles used in the city for the purpose of solicitation of business, delivery or transportation of merchandise, or for the transportation of equipment or materials used in general building construction shall have prominently displayed upon each side thereof the name of the owner and character of business and the address of such owner or business in which such vehicle is engaged. A permanent or removable sign of a minimum size of 12 inches long and six inches high, displaying the name of the owner and character of the business and the address of such owner or business, shall be sufficient to comply with this requirement.
