FIRE DEPARTMENT
§ 31.15 ESTABLISHMENT OF FIRE DEPARTMENT.
   There is hereby established within the administrative division of the village the Village Fire Department.

§ 31.16 APPOINTMENT OF FIRE CHIEF.
   The Village Council, with the advice of the Village Manager, shall appoint a Fire Chief who shall be the head of the Fire Department. The Fire Chief shall serve at the pleasure of the Village Council.

§ 31.17 DIRECTION OF VILLAGE COUNCIL; ROLE OF VILLAGE MANAGER.
   As required by § 6.3 of the Village Charter, the Fire Department shall be under the direction of the Village Council, but, as required by § 6.12 of the Charter, the Council shall deal with the Fire Department solely through the Village Manager.

§ 31.18 RESPONSIBILITY OF FIRE DEPARTMENT.
   Commencing July 1, 2004, the Fire Department shall be responsible for the prevention and suppression of fires, the provision of emergency medical services, and such other services within the village as may be determined by the Village Council.

§ 31.19 ORGANIZATION OF FIRE DEPARTMENT.
   The Fire Department shall be organized and consist of those command and duty positions as proposed by the Village Manager and approved by the Village Council.
