§ 151.26 CASH DEPOSIT REQUIRED.
   (A)   Deposit required; amounts. It is hereby required of all persons before the issuance of a permit for doing any such work as described in § 151.25 of this chapter that they deposit with the City Clerk in cash, a sum to cover the cost of replacement and repair of any street, avenue, alley, sidewalk, pavement or other public ground and the surface thereof by the city in the same condition as the same was prior to the time of doing any work as described in the preceding section. The amount of such cash deposit shall be as follows:
      (1)   Asphalt surface $1.50/lin. foot of excavation, minimum $10;
      (2)   Concrete surface $2.50/lin. foot of excavation, minimum $20; and
      (3)   Gravel or earthen surface $1/lin. foot of excavation, minimum $10.
   (B)   Authority to alter fee amounts. The amount of the cash deposits above required are for normal or ordinary excavations, and the Street Superintendent may make adjustments in the amount of such cash deposits when conditions, including width or area of excavation, are such that the cost of making repairs and replacements of such excavations or alterations including surfaces shall be less than or greater than the cost for the usual, normal or ordinary excavations or alterations.
