1-8A-2: COMPENSATION:
   A.   The village attorney shall be paid an annual salary which shall be fixed in the annual appropriation ordinance for his general counsel and advice. (1985 Code § 1-8A-2; amd. Ord. 99-12, 9-13-1999)
   B.   For drawing up of a general bond ordinance, the village attorney shall receive two percent (2%) of the first one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) and one percent (1%) of any amount over one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) of the total amount of the bond issue, and for the drawing up of revenue bond ordinances, transcripts, etc., he shall receive three percent (3%) of the total amount of the bond issue, unless the board, with him, should contract otherwise. If industrial revenue bonds are issued, he shall receive the sum of one percent (1%) of the total amount of bonds issued but not less than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00). If alternative revenue bonds are issued, he shall receive a fee of three percent (3%) of the total amount of the bond issue. (1985 Code § 1-8A-2; amd.    C.   For litigation, ordinances, resolutions and other services not covered in this section, or in case of failure of a bond issue to pass by referendum, he shall charge on a quantum meruit basis in absence of any specific agreement with the board. (1985 Code § 1-8A-2)
   D.   In case of special assessments or special service areas, he shall receive such compensation as shall be provided in the ordinance authorizing the improvement, but not less than four and one-half percent (4.5%) of the estimated total cost of the improvement.
