A. Officers Designated And Appointed: Among the officers of the Village to be appointed by the President, with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees, and whose offices are hereby created and established, are the following: (1985 Code § 1-8-1; amd. 2016 Code)
Village Attorney.
Village Comptroller.
Code/Life Safety Officer.
Chief of Police.
Building Inspector.
Village Engineer.
Superintendent of Public Works and Water.

B. Suspension Or Removal: All appointees may, from time to time, be suspended or removed from office by the President and Board of Trustees, and all vacancies may be filled in like manner.
C. Terms: All such officers shall hold their appointive offices until the first Monday of May in each year following their appointments and until their successors shall have been appointed and qualified, except the Village Attorney, who may be appointed for the term of the President and until his successor has been appointed and qualified; subject, however, to removal at any time by the President and Board of Trustees, with or without specification of cause therefor.
