The village police department shall consist of a chief of police and such other officers, police officers and employees as shall, by ordinance, from time to time, be determined by the village president, with the advice and consent of the board of trustees. Said department, called department of police, is hereby created. The chain of command of said department shall be as follows: a) chief of police; b) deputy chief of police; c) lieutenants; d) sergeants of police; and e) patrolmen. (1985 Code § 5-1-1; amd.
