§ 150.005 NUMBERING OF BUILDINGS.
   (A)   Baselines for the numbering of buildings in the city shall be as follows.
      (1)   First Street shall be taken as the east and west baseline. All buildings north of the street shall be “north” and all buildings south of the street shall be “south.”
      (2)   Main Street shall be taken as the north and south baseline. All buildings east of the street shall be “east” and all buildings west of the street shall be “west.”
   (B)   Buildings shall be numbered in both directions from the baselines established in division (A) above. Each block shall contain numbers within the 100 assigned to the block, beginning with the lowest number in the respective 100 on the corner of the block nearest the baseline from which it is measured. The first block from the baseline shall include all numbers less than 100 which may be necessary to number the parcels in the block, and each succeeding block shall begin its series of numbers by adding as many hundreds to 100 as it is from the first block adjoining the baseline.
   (C)   Each building shall be assigned a number by the Code Enforcement Officer. In assigning the number, the first 25-foot lot shall be assigned the first number reserved for the respective block, and each succeeding lot which is 25 feet wide and no wider shall receive the succeeding numbers in the respective order. No fractional numbers shall be used, unless for pieces less than or a part of a 25-foot lot.
   (D)   Nothing but even numbers shall be used on lots or buildings on the south side of streets running east and west and on the east side of streets running north and south. Nothing but odd numbers shall be used on lots or buildings on the north side of streets running east and west and on the west side of streets running north and south.
   (E)   A number assigned under this section shall be placed in a conspicuous place on the building by the owner or occupant of same. Numbers shall be at least two inches high and of metal or painted numerals, subject to the approval of the Code Enforcement Officer. It shall be unlawful for any owner or occupant of a building to fail or refuse to place thereon the number assigned to such building, within ten days after notice from the Code Enforcement Officer so to do. Each day after the expiration of the ten days’ notice in which such failure or omission to perform continues shall be a separate offense.
