A. Numbering Plan Adopted: All buildings situated or hereafter erected or located on any of the streets, avenues, and public highways (except alleys) within the village shall be numbered according to the following plan:
1. Washington Street to be used as a baseline for east and west numbering and Chicago Avenue as a base line for the north and south numbering.
2. That portion of streets extending east of Washington Street shall be designated as "East" and that portion of streets extending west from Washington Street shall be designated "West". That portion of streets extending north of Chicago Avenue shall be designated "North" and that portion of streets extending south of Chicago Avenue shall be designated "South".
3. Even numbers to be used on property facing east and north and odd numbered to be used on property facing west and south.
4. The 100 numbers to be assigned to approximately each block; that is, numbers below 100 from Chicago Avenue to First Street, numbers from 100 to 199 from First Street to Second Street, and so forth.
The division of numbers for east streets are as follows:
1 to 99 | Washington Street to Garfield Street |
100 to 199 | Garfield Street to Park Avenue, Forest Road, and Walker Road |
200 to 299 | Park Avenue, Forest Road, and Walker Road to Elm Street |
300 to 399 | Elm Street to Oak Street (the intersection from the north to govern on Third Street and the intersection from the south to govern on Hickory Street) |
400 to 499 | Oak Street to County Line Road |
500 to 599 | County Line Road to Justina Street, Hillcrest Avenue, and McKinley Lane |
600 to 699 | Justina Street, Hillcrest Avenue, and McKinley Lane to Spring Street and Taft Road |

The division of numbers for north streets are as follows:
1 to 99 | Chicago Avenue to Maple Street |
100 to 199 | Maple Street to Walnut Street |
200 to 299 | Walnut Street to Hickory Street |
300 to 399 | Hickory Street to North Street and Ravine Road (the intersection of Ravine Road to govern on Garfield Street) |
400 to 499 | North Street and Ravine Road to Ayres Street and The Lane (the intersection of The Lane to govern on Garfield Street) |
500 to 599 | Ayres Street and The Lane to halfway between The Lane and Fuller Road |
600 to 699 | Halfway between The Lane and Fuller Road to Fuller Road |
700 to 799 | Fuller Road to halfway between Fuller Road and Ogden Avenue |
800 to 899 | Halfway between Fuller Road and Ogden Avenue to Ogden Avenue |
900 to 999 | Ogden Avenue to Glendale Avenue or the east and west extension thereof |

1 to 99 | Chicago Avenue to First Street and Chestnut Street |
100 to 199 | First Street and Chestnut Street to Second Street and Town Place |
200 to 299 | Second Street to Third Street and from Town Place to the railroad |
300 to 399 | Third Street to Fourth Street |
400 to 499 | Fourth Street to Fifth Street and Woodside Avenue |
500 to 599 | Fifth Street and Woodside Avenue to Sixth Street (the intersection of First, Third, Fourth Streets and Woodside Avenue on the west side of County Line Road are to govern on County Line Road) |
600 to 699 | Sixth Street to Seventh Street |
700 to 799 | Seventh Street to Eighth Street and Eighth Street extended |
800 to 899 | Eighth Street and Eighth Street extended to Ninth Street and Ninth Street extended |
900 to 999 | Ninth Street and Ninth Street extended to Tenth Street |
B. Size Of Numbers: Each of the figures of every number shall be at least three inches (3") in length, being so marked as to be easily and distinctly read. Said numbers shall be placed on, above, or immediately to the side of the door, or else at some other and more conspicuous place on the front of the building, to serve the purpose for which intended, and subject to direction of the superintendent of public works.
C. Plats: For the purpose of facilitating a correct enumeration, plats of all the streets, avenues, and public highways within the village, showing the proper numbers of all lots or houses fronting upon the highways (except alleys) shall be prepared and kept on file in the office of the superintendent of public works, which plats shall be open during the office hours of said superintendent to the inspection of any owner or occupant of any building, desiring to know the proper number of his building.
D. Names Of Streets And Alleys: The power to name streets and alleys within the village shall be reserved exclusively to the board of trustees. Any street or alley name proposed as part of any subdivision or resubdivision within the village shall be subject to the approval of the board of trustees. Nothing about the naming of any alley in the village shall be construed to indicate that such alley has been reclassified as a street or to require any upgrading of or improvements to such alley.
E. Authorized Alley Names: The following alleys shall have the names herein assigned to them. No alleys within the village shall be named except those listed herein.
1. The north-south alley bounded by Hinsdale Avenue; Washington Street, First Street, and Lincoln Street: To be named Harrison Place. (Ord. O2008-46, 8-12-2008)
