Any person who undertakes or causes an alteration, construction, demolition, or removal of any nominated or designated landmark without a certificate of appropriateness shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) nor more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00). Any person who undertakes or causes an alteration, construction, demolition, or removal of any structure, building, site, or area within a nominated or designated historic district without having obtained a final decision from the Commission on a certificate of appropriateness application shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) nor more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00). Every day such violation shall continue to exist shall constitute a separate violation. In addition to such penalties, the Village may institute any appropriate action or proceeding to enjoin, correct or abate any violation of this Title. (Ord. O2000-7, 4-18-2000, eff. 5-1-2000; amd.
