§ 71.28 VEHICLE WEIGHT LIMITS.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful to drive on any street any motor vehicle with the weight, including a load, in excess of that permitted by a state traffic law for driving on improved highways, or with a weight distribution in a manner not conforming to such law, or in violation of specific weight limits provided for by signs posted.
   (B)   It shall be unlawful to operate any vehicle on any street in the City which is maintained by the city when the gross weight on the surface of the road through any axle of such vehicle exceeds twelve thousand (12,000) pounds, and on any street where the weight of vehicles permitted on such street is limited by resolution and signs indicating such limitation are posted. It shall be unlawful to operate a vehicle in excess of such weight on such street, except for the purpose of making delivery or picking up a load, in which case such vehicle may be driven on such street for not more than the minimum distance necessary for that purpose.
