(A) The town will comply with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The town will not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin or sexual orientation. The town will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. Such action shall include, but not be limited to, the following: employment, upgrading, demotion or transfer; recruitment or recruitment advertising; layoff or termination; rates of pay or other forms of compensation; and selection for training.
(B) In all solicitations or advertisements for employees placed by or on behalf of the town, the town will state that all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex or national origin.
(C) The town will comply with the provisions of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, as amended, and will not discriminate against applicants or employees aged 40 to 70 in hiring, promotion, discharge, pay, fringe benefits and other aspects of employment.
(D) The town will comply with the Equal Pay Act of 1963, and will not discriminate on the basis of sex in the payment of wages to persons performing substantially equal work.
(E) The town will comply with Executive Order 11246, as amended, in connection with all federal contracts held by the town.
(F) The town will comply with §§ 503 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and will not discriminate against applicants and employees on the basis of handicap. The town will make reasonable accommodations to permit persons with a handicap or disability to perform the essential functions of the job.
(G) The town will comply with § 402 of the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 and will not discriminate against and provide affirmative action to employ and advance in employment qualified Vietnam-era veterans and qualified disabled veterans.
(H) The town will comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The town will not discriminate on the basis of race, color or national origin in programs or activities for which the town has received or is receiving federal financial assistance.
(I) The authority and responsibility for administering and enforcing this section shall be that of the Town Clerk-Treasurer and the Town Superintendent.
