7-4-16: IMPROPER, DANGEROUS DRIVING:
   A.   Reckless Driving: Any person who drives any vehicle with a wilful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property is guilty of reckless driving.
   B.   Negligent Driving: Any person who drives any vehicle in a careless or negligent manner so as to unnecessarily endanger persons or property is guilty of negligent driving.
   C.   Drag Racing: No person shall drag race within the city. "Drag racing" means the act of two (2) or more individuals competing or racing on any street or highway in the city in a situation in which one of the motor vehicles is beside or to the rear of a motor vehicle operated by a competing driver, and the one driver attempts to prevent the competing driver from passing or overtaking him, either by acceleration or maneuver, or one or more individuals competing in a race against time on any street or highway in the city.    D.   Driving Under The Influence Of Alcohol And/Or Drugs: Provisions of 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/11-500, 5/11-501 and all subparts thereof, as amended from time to time, through and including 5/11-501.1 through 5/11-501.5 shall apply. (Ord. 2001-O-20, 3-20-2001; amd. 2009 Code)
