151.10 BEREAVEMENT LEAVE.
   (a)    An employee shall be granted time off with pay, not to be deducted from sick leave, for the purpose of attending a funeral of a member of the employee's immediate family. The employee shall be entitled to a maximum of three (3) work days for each death in his immediate family. For purposes of this Article, "immediate family" shall be defined as to only include the employee's spouse, children, stepchildren, siblings, step-siblings, parents-in-law, step-parents, and parents. In addition to the foregoing, an employee shall be entitled to two (2) workdays for each death involving the employee's grandparents.
   (b)    An employee shall be permitted to take one (1) day of sick leave to attend the funeral for an "extended family member" - for a domestic partner, parents, or siblings of a domestic partner, any person who stood in loco parentis to the employee, aunt, uncle, parent-in-law, sister-in-law, or brother-in-law. Use of sick leave under this provision shall not be counted as use of sick leave for purposes of sick leave incentive under Section 151.07(l).
