SECTION 4.03 QUALIFICATIONS.

   No persons shall be eligible to be members of Council unless they shall have been continuously residents for three (3) years immediately prior to their election or appointment, and qualified electors of the Municipality, and no persons shall serve as members of Council unless during their term of office they shall continue to be residents and qualified electors of the Municipality. No persons shall be eligible to serve as members of Council from a ward, or wards, unless they shall have been continuously residents of their respective ward(s) for one (1) year immediately prior to their election or appointment, and no persons shall serve as members of Council from wards unless during their term of office they shall continue to be residents of their respective ward(s).

   To the extent provided by general law, he shall not directly or indirectly be interested in the profits or emoluments of any contract, work, or service with or for the Municipality. No member of Council shall be an employee of the Municipality.

   Any member of Council who shall cease to possess, or who violates any of the qualifications herein enumerated may be removed from his office, but failure to maintain said qualifications shall not render void or ineffective any action of Council in which said member has participated.
