10-3-5: BUILDING PERMIT REVIEW PROCESS:
   A.   Administration: The designated administrating official shall administer the review of the "Building Permit & Plan Examination Application" and any accompanying plans and specifications. (Ord. 2015-07, 2-5-2015)
   B.   Engineering Review: The Village Engineer shall review plans for improvements in areas zoned Commercial or Industrial or for residential multi-family structures of five (5) or more units. The Village Engineer is not responsible for performing surveys or locating or determining lot dimensions for applicants. (Ord. 2016-38, 9-15-2016)
   C.   Building Code Compliance Review: All plans and specifications shall be reviewed for compliance with the building regulations established by chapter 1 of this title by the administrating official, or in the event that an administrating official is not designated, a copy of the plans and specifications shall be maintained in the Office of the Village Clerk.
   D.   Processing Request: Review of the "Building Permit & Plan Examination Application" and any accompanying plans and specifications shall be completed within fourteen (14) calendar days of their receipt.
      1.   All applicants are responsible for adhering to any applicable restrictive covenants, easements, or any other applicable restriction, regulation, or law affiliated with the property.
   E.   Display Of Approved Permits: Approved building permits shall be displayed in a location on the construction site that is visible from the street.
   F.   Inspection: The administrating official is authorized and empowered to enter upon any premises for the purpose of inspecting the same for compliance with the building regulations established by provisions of this title. After completion of the structure requested to be constructed with the permit, the owner or applicant shall notify the administrating official for final inspection. Upon final inspection, if the premises and structure are constructed in compliance with the permit, the administration official shall provide a certificate of compliance, also referred to as a use permit. If the premises is found to be in violation of any of the provisions of this chapter, the owner of the property shall be subject to the penalties set forth in section 10-3-9 of this chapter.
   G.   Compliance: Any approved building permit or approval after inspection by the Village does not alleviate compliance of any law or give affirmation of compliance with any law related to Building Codes or any other item relevant to the building permit.
   H.   Monthly Reports: At the first regularly scheduled Board meeting of every month, the Administrative Officer shall provide a monthly report to the Board of Trustees of all building permits issued by the Village. (Ord. 2015-07, 2-5-2015)
