A. It shall be a violation of this chapter for any person to knowingly or with reckless disregard for the truth or veracity make any false statement or statements or provide inaccurate plans and specifications in the "Building Permit & Plan Examination Application". If a permit is issued in reliance upon an inaccurate "Building Permit & Plan Examination Application" the appropriate administrating official may issue a stop work order and/or revoke the building permit issued.
B. In case of a violation of any provision of this chapter, the applicable code official may cause to be instituted the appropriate proceeding at law or in equity to obtain penalties or to restrain, correct or abate such violation, or to require the removal or termination of an unlawful occupancy or construction of the structure by issuance of a stop work order, revocation of building permit or any other means permitted by law. The Village may take action to abate any violation, and any costs incurred in abating such violations may be charged against the real estate upon which such abatement occurs and shall be a lien upon such property.
C. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) nor more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00) for each violation. Each day upon which a violation occurs shall be considered a separate and distinct offense. (Ord. 2015-07, 2-5-2015)
