The City Water Department Head or authorized agent shall make an inspection of any building, improvement, or structure of any nature receiving water from the City water supply if there is cause to believe that a cross-connection exists or that a backflow prevention device should be installed pursuant to this Chapter. Whenever a cross-connection or other source of contamination to the water supply is found, or it is determined that a backflow prevention device is necessary, the City shall cease delivery of water to such premises and the water supply shall not be resumed until the cross-connection or source of contamination is eliminated or a backflow prevention device has been installed in accordance with this Chapter.
