A. Regular Meetings: Regular scheduled meetings shall be held at seven o'clock (7:00) P.M. on the first and third Mondays of each month hereafter, except when said first and third Mondays are legal holidays, and under those conditions the next following day shall be the regularly scheduled meeting of the board of trustees. B. Special Meetings: Special meetings of the board of trustees may be called by the village president or any three (3) of the village trustees by causing at least six (6) hours' notice to be given to each trustee in writing, or by leaving such notice at the place of residence of the trustee, or delivering the same to some member of the family or servant residing within the family above fifteen (15) years of age. The notice shall, in all cases, distinctly specify the object and the time of the meeting. (Ord., 4-29-1884; amd. 1983 Code)
C. Meetings Open To Public: All meetings shall be opened to the public except for: 1) collective negotiating matters between the village and its employees; 2) meetings for the acquisition of real property as being considered; 3) meetings where a pending or prospective court proceeding against or on behalf of the village is being considered; 4) meetings to consider information regarding appointment, employment or dismissal of an employee or officer; provided, that no final action may be taken at a closed session. A. Village President: The village president shall receive the sum of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) per year, payable at the end of each fiscal year. (Ord., 6-6-1994, eff. retroactive to 5-1-1994)
B. Village Trustees: Each village trustee shall receive the sum of one thousand two hundred dollars ($1,200.00) per year, payable at the end of each fiscal year. (Ord. 11-1, 2-21-2011)
C. Mileage Reimbursement: Each officer and employee of the village shall be reimbursed for mileage arising from the use of his personal vehicle. The rate of reimbursement shall be set on a regular basis by the board of trustees. (1983 Code)
D. Village Liquor Commissioner: The village liquor commissioner shall receive the sum of three hundred dollars ($300.00) per year, payable at the end of each fiscal year. (Ord., 6-6-1994, eff. retroactive to 5-1-1994)
A. Officers And Employees: The village president, upon, by and with the advice and consent of the board of trustees, may appoint: 1) a clerk; 2) a treasurer; 3) a village marshal; 4) a village attorney; 5) a building inspector; and 6) such other officers as may be necessary to carry into effect the powers conferred upon the village by law and the ordinances of the village. B. Committees: There shall be appointed by the village president, with the approval of the trustees, the following standing committees consisting of no less than two (2) members each, all of which the president shall be ex officio a member, as follows:
Streets and alleys
Sanitary and sewer
Ordinance
Parks
Water
Police
Finance
Building
The village president, with the approval of the trustees, may appoint such other committees as may be deemed necessary. Committees to which matters are referred shall report in writing on the request of any member of the board of trustees. (1983 Code; amd. Ord., 3-18-1991)
