A. Ownership: The city will own and maintain all water meters. The city will not pay rent or any other charge for a meter or other water facilities, including housing and connections on a customer's premises.
B. Installation: Installation of water meters shall be performed only by authorized employees of the city.
C. Size And Type Of Meter: Applicant may request and receive any size meter regularly stocked or furnished by the city, provided the request is reasonable, and further provided the meter is not greatly oversized or undersized. The city reserves the right to determine the type of meter to be installed. (Ord. 487, 6-10-1991; amd. 1995 Code)
D. Location Of Meters: Meters shall normally be placed at the property line where the city right of way joins the private property being served, however the city of Heppner reserves the right to determine the location for the placement of meters. (Ord. 532-2002, 2-11-2002)
E. Protection During Winter: During the winter months each customer will be responsible for insulating his water meter. The cost of any meter replaced due to lack of or insufficient insulation will be borne by the customer.
F. Changes In Size Or Location: If for any reason a change in the size of a meter and service is required, the installation will be considered a new connection and the customer shall file a new application and pay the appropriate fees. Meters or services moved for the convenience of the customer will be relocated only at the customer's expense. (Ord. 487, 6-10-1991; amd. 1995 Code)
