6-5-7: TOWING AND STORAGE LIENS:
A person who, at the request of a Heppner police officer takes a vehicle into custody under the provisions of this chapter shall have a lien on the vehicle for the just and reasonable towing and storage charges, may retain possession of the vehicle until the charges are paid, and may have the vehicle sold at public auction to satisfy the lien. The lien that attaches to the vehicle shall be a possessory chattel lien in accordance with Oregon Revised Statutes 87.142 (as the statute currently exists or is amended in the future) and shall be foreclosed in the manner provided in Oregon Revised Statutes 87.152 to 87.212 (as these statutes currently exist or are amended in the future). If the appraised value of the vehicle is seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00) or less, the vehicle shall be disposed of in the manner provided in Oregon Revised Statutes 819.220 (as it currently exists or is amended in the future).
