6-4-2: DEFINITIONS:
As used in this chapter, the following words and terms shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section:
ABANDONED VEHICLES: Abandoned, wrecked, dismantled, partially dismantled, inoperative or junked vehicles.
COSTS: Any expense incurred in the removal, preservation, custody or sale of any impounded vehicle.
DISCARDED: Any vehicle which does not have lawfully affixed thereon unexpired license plate and/or is in one or more of the following conditions: inoperative, wrecked, dismantled, abandoned, or junked. Discarded vehicles include major parts thereof including, but not limited to, bodies, engines, rear ends, and transmissions.
PRIVATE PROPERTY: Any real property within the city which is privately owned and which is not "public property" as defined in this section.
PUBLIC PROPERTY: Any street or highway which shall include the entire width between the boundary line of every way publicly maintained for the purposes of vehicular travel, and shall also mean any other publicly owned property or facility.
VEHICLE: Every self-propelled vehicle designed for self- propulsion except road rollers, farm tractors, traction engines and ambulances. (Ord. 431, 9-4-1979; amd. Ord. 472, 4-5-1988; Ord. 526-99, 3-8-1999)
