6-3-5: VEHICLE AND TRAILER PARKING; REMOVAL FOR NONCOMPLIANCE:
   A.   Time Limit: It shall be unlawful for any person, either owner or agent of such owner, to park on any street of the City any motor vehicle or trailer so parked for a longer period than thirty six (36) successive hours, unless the same is so parked on such portion of such street directly abutting the property owned by such owner or agent of such vehicle or trailer.
   B.   Notification to Remove: The owner or agent of such motor vehicle or trailer shall remove such motor vehicle or trailer from where it is so parked within six (6) hours after being notified by the Chief of Police of the City, or the owner of the property directly abutting that portion of such street where such motor vehicle or trailer is so parked.
   C.   Removal by City; Payment of Costs: If such owner or agent failed to remove the same after being so notified, then the Chief of Police shall remove or cause the same to be removed and the cost of such removing, together with the storage of such motor vehicle or trailer, shall be paid by the owner or agent thereof within ten (10) days from the date of such removal, and if not so paid, then the Chief of Police shall sell such vehicle or trailer at public auction after giving ten (10) days' notice, by posting such notice in three (3) public places in the City and one on such vehicle or trailer, and from the proceeds of such sale, pay the cost of such removal and storage from the proceeds of the sale. Any remaining proceeds from the sale of the vehicle or trailer shall be paid to the owner. (Ord. 330, 5-7-51; 1995 Code)
