Whenever in the opinion of the Chief of Police it shall become necessary to limit the hours of continuous parking of vehicles in certain sections of the City, or to prohibit parking in certain congested areas, he shall, with the consent of the City Council, establish such areas as no parking or limited parking areas. Such areas shall be carefully marked either by painting of curb lines or by signs indicating the areas to be so controlled. Such signs shall clearly designate the type of regulations imposed and shall be readable by anyone driving a motor vehicle within the area. (Ord. 286, 2-5-40)
