6-2-1: TRUCK TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS:
   A.   "Truck" Defined: For the purposes of this chapter, "truck" shall mean every motor vehicle designed or used for carrying, conveying or moving over the highways of this state any freight, property, article or thing, and having a combined weight of vehicle and maximum load to be carried thereon of more than eight thousand (8,000) pounds. It shall not include any vehicle designed or used exclusively for carrying passengers, baggage and express.
   B.   Truck Routes Designated: The city hereby designates the following described highways and streets within the city limits as truck routes:
Main Street between Cannon Street and Quaid Street.
May Street between Court Street and Main Street.
Riverside Avenue.
State Highway 74.
State Highways 206 and 207. (Ord. 423, 9-6-1978; amd. 1995 Code)
   C.   Trucks Restricted On Other Streets: The operation of trucks or other large or heavy vehicles upon any street, road or highway which serves the same route or area served by the above truck routes is hereby prohibited, unless necessary for pick up or delivery service to a specific site within the city limits. A truck without a load that is not a semitractor truck (a truck designed to haul a trailer) or a semitractor truck without a trailer may be driven to the residence of the owner of the truck for the purpose of parking or for minor repairs. The truck must be parked off street. "Minor repairs" are repairs that can be accomplished without the use of power equipment. (Ord. 423, 9-6-1978; amd. 1995 Code; Ord. 558-06, 5-8-2006)
   D.   Penalty: Violation of subsections A through C of this section shall be deemed a civil infraction. Any person found to be in violation of this section shall be assessed a class C forfeiture pursuant to section 1-4-1 of this code. (Ord. 423, 9-6-1978; amd. 1995 Code)
