§ 135.03 SCAVENGING GARBAGE.
   (A)   Definitions. For the purpose of this section, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
      GARBAGE. Putrescible, animal and vegetable wastes, resulting from the handling, preparation, cooking and consumption of food.
      POSTED. Exhibiting a sign on the container, or in a conspicuous place, reading as follows: “Posted - Keep Out of Container”; or a similar sign.
      TRASH. Extends to the widest sense of the term, and includes, but without limitation upon any other meaning, refuse, litter, ashes, leaves, debris, paper, combustible materials, offal, rubbish, waste and useless or uncared for matter of all kinds, whether solid or liquid in form.
   (B)   Prohibited. It shall be unlawful for any person to remove, take, appropriate, rummage or scavenge through garbage or trash from another person’s, or the town’s, trash containers, including plastic bags, whether the container is furnished by the town or by the individual, without the permission of the town or such other person, when such container is posted.
