(A) If the officer has or with reasonable dispatch can obtain the name of the owner or custodian of the animal or fowl, he or she will return it to the residence address.
(B) (1) If there is no one at the address, he or she will leave a notice where the owner or custodian may reclaim the property.
(2) He or she will then proceed to the nearest animal hospital or shelter which will accept the animal or fowl and leave it. He or she will then serve or have served a citation on the owner or custodian for permitting the animal or fowl to go at large.
